The short version

Archwords has no accounts, sets no cookies and shows no advertising. We don’t collect your name, email address or answers.

What is stored, and where

To keep your place in today’s puzzle and your streak, the game saves a small record in your browser’s local storage on your own device. It holds your current answers, past results (date, win or loss, mistake count) and your settings (dark mode, reduced motion). It never leaves your device and isn’t sent to us.

You can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Doing so resets your streak and statistics. Because nothing is stored on a server, progress can’t be moved between devices or browsers.

Sharing your result

When you tap share, the game creates an emoji summary with no answers in it. It’s only copied to your clipboard or passed to your device’s share sheet when you choose to.

Anonymous usage statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and a few in-game events (a puzzle won or lost, a share, a hint). It sets no cookies, doesn’t use fingerprinting, and doesn’t store IP addresses or anything that identifies you, so no consent banner is required. It tells us how many people play and whether features are used, not who you are.

Hosting

Like any website, the hosting provider that delivers these pages processes standard technical request data, such as IP address and browser type, to serve the site and keep it secure. We don’t use this to identify or profile you.

Changes and contact

If we add features that collect data, such as analytics, we’ll update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it. Questions: hello@archwords.com. More about Archwords on the About page.
